BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy

Hartpury University's BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy is a full-time undergraduate degree designed for students seeking a career as a qualified sports therapist working with both the general population and athletes. The programme covers sports therapy, medicine, exercise science and research, with a strong emphasis on practical skills including patient examination, injury management and rehabilitation. Students complete a minimum of 250 placement hours across campus facilities — including a student-led sports injury clinic — and an external placement in the final year, with previous opportunities at clubs such as Cheltenham Town FC and Bristol Rovers.

Delivered on campus at Hartpury University in Gloucester, the course runs for three or four years full time. It is accredited by the Society of Sports Therapists (SST), enabling graduates to apply for full SST membership and professional liability insurance, and is also endorsed by CIMSPA, with students progressing through Level 4 to Level 6 professional standards during their studies. Hartpury covers the cost of SST student membership, DBS checks and first aid training throughout the course.
