MSc Sport Rehabilitation

Designed for graduates with a background in sports rehabilitation, physiotherapy, sports therapy or related disciplines, this master's programme at Cardiff Metropolitan University develops advanced, industry-ready sport rehabilitation practitioners. Core modules cover sports injuries and clinical assessment, rehabilitation principles, applied functional rehabilitation, research methods and a dissertation project, with a strong emphasis on practical competency. Students must complete a minimum of 400 hours of clinical placement experience with sports injury clinics, university and professional sports teams, and other settings.

The programme is delivered in person at Cardiff Met's Cyncoed Campus and is available full time (18 months to two years) or part time (three to five years). It carries BASRaT accreditation at MSc level, enabling graduates to apply for registration with the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers. Students also earn a Level 2 advanced trauma care qualification endorsed by the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. The programme director is Adeline Miles of the Cardiff School of Sport and Health Sciences.
