How to Become a Football Agent

Golpath Institute

A four-day football agent course in Lisbon that puts you in the room with working football agents — learn how transfers and player contracts are negotiated, the FIFA Football Agent Regulations, and how to start your own career in player representation.

About This Course

How to Become a Football Agent is a four-day football agent course in Lisbon, run by Golpath Institute. Breaking into football is hard, and the agent route is one of the hardest to start on your own. This course puts you in the room with working football agents, so you see how the job is really done and pick up the skills to start your own career in player representation.

Rather than following a syllabus, the course is built around real access. You work through how transfers and player contracts are negotiated, the FIFA Football Agent Regulations behind them, how agents build and manage the player relationship, and what the first years in the job actually look like.

What You'll Explore

- **The deal:** negotiation skills, transfers and player contracts, legal aspects and the FIFA Football Agent Regulations - **The player relationship:** player wellness and mindset, representing female players - **The path in:** a day in the life of a football agent, an honest overview of the FIFA Agent Exam, building your network in the industry - **Your own pathway:** on the last day you build your 3–5 year career plan and get feedback on it

What's Included

Practitioner-led workshops with football agents, visits to clubs and organisations, networking with speakers, a personal pathway session on the last day, and a Golpath Institute certificate of participation. Travel, accommodation and meals are not included; accommodation in Lisbon can be arranged on request.

Who You'll Learn From

The course is led by Guilherme von Cupper, CEO of Berlin Sports - Bridge for Talents and a specialist in international football transfers. Sessions are run by practising football agents who work in the transfer market every day.

Who It's For

Anyone who wants to become a football agent, whether you're preparing for the FIFA Agent Exam, just starting out, or moving into agency work from another role in football. No prior experience needed.
