Applied Sport Physiology MSc (PGCert PGDip)

The Applied Sport Physiology MSc is a postgraduate programme that develops the scientific knowledge and applied skills needed to work as a sport physiologist with athletes and teams. Students study exercise physiology, performance testing and monitoring, environmental and altitude physiology, nutrition for performance, and research methods, combining laboratory-based learning with applied case work and practical assessment. The programme is aimed at graduates with a sports science, physiology, or related background who want to move into applied roles in elite sport, national institutes, or sport-focused research.

Delivered on campus at the University of Brighton's Eastbourne site, the MSc runs over one year full-time, with part-time routes also available. The programme can be taken in full as an MSc or exited earlier with a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) or Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip), and sits within Brighton's sport and exercise science provision.
