MSc Football Science

Designed for graduates and practitioners with aspirations of working across coaching, analysis, performance science, or leadership in professional football, Solent University's MSc Football Performance covers five core strands: coaching insights, football performance, football analysis, team leadership and management, and football innovation and player care. The programme incorporates a partnership with Southampton FC, offering curriculum-integrated industry experience, alongside regular guest lectures from players, coaches, analysts, and performance staff.

Delivered on campus at Solent's Southampton City Centre site, the course runs for one year full-time or two years part-time. Teaching is led by a course team that combines academic expertise with hands-on football industry experience, including former and current sport science and coaching staff from Premier League clubs and international set-ups. Students have access to a CASES-accredited physiology lab, biomechanics and psychology laboratories, and the Test Park football centre, which includes a full-sized 3G pitch and an FA Step 5 arena.
