BSc (Hons) Sports Studies

The BSc (Hons) Sports Studies at the University of Hertfordshire is aimed at students with a passion for sport who wish to build careers in coaching, management, education, or community sport roles. The programme covers sport management, coaching, sport science, psychology, sociology, ethics, leadership, events management and research methods. Practical workshops, coaching sessions and performance testing complement academic study, while optional modules allow students to specialise in areas such as sport marketing, behaviour change or sport law and governance.

Delivered on campus at the de Havilland site in Hertfordshire, the degree runs for three years as standard, with the option to extend through a sandwich year work placement or study abroad. Students graduate with a BSc (Hons) degree. The course is ranked 2nd in the East of England for Sports Science by the 2023 Complete University Guide and is shaped with input from industry partners including Watford FC and the LTA. It is delivered by the University of Hertfordshire's Institute of Sport.
