BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy

Designed for aspiring healthcare professionals, the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy at the University of Hertfordshire builds the knowledge and practical skills needed to work as a qualified physiotherapist. Core subject areas include anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, electrotherapy, and physiotherapy practice, with increasing complexity across each year of study. A scenario-based approach to learning is complemented by structured practice placements throughout all three years, ranging from two-week introductory placements in the first year to six-week placements in years two and three, spanning settings across the NHS, private, and sports sectors.

The programme is delivered full-time on campus at the University of Hertfordshire's Hatfield site, running over three years, with clinical skills developed in specialist physiotherapy laboratories and a dedicated simulation unit. The course is approved by both the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), and graduates are eligible to apply for CSP membership and HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist. The Guardian University Guide 2026 ranks the university fourth in the UK for physiotherapy.
