About This Course
Designed for both aspiring and practising Player Care professionals, the Certificate in Player Care covers the theories, operations, welfare responsibilities, and personal development skills that underpin effective Player Care practice. The curriculum addresses common challenges players face, mental health strategies, the differences between first-team and academy environments, and how to demonstrate the value of Player Care within a club. Graduates receive a Certificate of Completion, access to a global alumni network, and exclusive job postings for Player Care roles worldwide.
The programme is delivered live online via Zoom and runs over six weeks, combining one self-paced introductory module with six live sessions of approximately two hours each, totalling around 15 hours of study. An in-person intensive format is also available. The course is taught by Hugo Scheckter, Sue Parris, Dan Harris, and Georgina Lillis — experienced Player Care practitioners with over 20 years of collective experience across Premier League, academy, and international football — and is provided by The Player Care Group.
