Introduction to Player Care

Designed for anyone looking to enter the player care profession, this introductory module from The Player Care Group covers the regulations surrounding professional football, the current landscape of player care, and the key areas involved in supporting academy players both on and off the pitch. It is suitable for those pursuing a career in player care, professionals wanting to apply player care principles to their work, or those with a general interest in athlete welfare and development. The module also serves as the first of seven units within the broader Certificate in Player Care.

The course is delivered entirely online through the Cahoot Learning platform and takes approximately three hours to complete, spread across a 14-day access window at a self-paced schedule. Participants receive a certificate of completion upon finishing the module. Tutors include Hugo Scheckter, founder of The Player Care Group and former Head of Player Care at Brentford FC and West Ham United, alongside Sue Parris, formerly of Brighton & Hove Albion FC, and Dr. Michele Di Mascio, former Head of Player Care at Sunderland AFC's Category 1 Academy.
