FdSc Manchester City Community Football Coaching

Delivered in partnership with Manchester City's community arm, City in the Community, this Foundation Degree in Community Football Coaching is aimed at aspiring coaches who want to combine academic study with hands-on experience in grassroots and community sport. Modules progress from fundamentals of sport coaching and professional skills in year one through to investigating coaching practice and analysing sport performance in year two, with work-based learning placements embedded throughout.

The course is taught on campus in Manchester within Manchester Metropolitan University's Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences, drawing on both academic staff and the expertise of City in the Community practitioners. It runs over two years and leads to a Foundation of Science (FdSc) qualification. The programme holds a Teaching Excellence Framework award (2023–2027) and is accredited through its partnership with Manchester City. Applications are made via UCAS using code CX61.
