Football Data for Decision Makers

Twelve Football

About This Course

This eight-week online course is designed for Sporting Directors, technical leaders and other senior decision-makers who want to embed data into long-term planning, recruitment and tactical strategy at their club. The curriculum runs from the foundations of football data — the major sources and the metrics that matter, including xG, xT and PPDA — through to applied case studies on team style, transfer decisions, and how to structure an in-house data department. Brighton's playing-style evolution and Brentford's talent identification are used as worked examples to ground each module in club-level reality.

Delivered online by Twelve Football and led by Dominic Jordan — the company's Chief Data Officer and former Director of Data at Manchester United — the programme combines theory with weekly tasks tailored to each participant's club context. The format is modular and practical, aimed at giving leaders the tools to build a data strategy at any level, from National League to the Premier League. The next intake begins on 9 February 2026.
