MSc Sports Directorship

Aimed at sports professionals, former players, and business leaders seeking to move into executive roles, the MSc Sports Directorship equips students with the strategic, commercial, and leadership skills required to operate as a Sporting Director within a modern sports organisation. The curriculum spans sports leadership, governance, innovation, financial and legal literacy, and high-performance organisational strategy, with neuroscience at the core of its approach. The programme welcomes applicants from a broad range of backgrounds, including coaching, medical, finance, marketing, and general business.

The course is delivered over two years on a part-time, blended basis, combining on-campus sessions in Manchester with remote study to accommodate working professionals. Students attend blocks of two days on campus across the academic year, supplemented by independent project work. Graduates receive an MSc degree awarded by the University of East London, with whom UCFB Global Institute of Sport is an embedded college. The programme is led by Course Leader Rob Wilson and is delivered in partnership with VSI Executive Education.
