Venue Management and Operations in Football

Designed for professionals and students seeking to develop expertise in football infrastructure, this intermediate-level course examines the business and management principles underpinning football venue operations. Topics span organisational and human resource management, event planning, safety and security, risk assessment, marketing, hospitality, sustainability, accessibility, compliance, and alternative stadium uses. The programme also introduces the Balanced Scorecard as a framework for measuring financial and operational performance.

Delivered entirely online by the Johan Cruyff Institute, the course runs for ten weeks and carries six ECTS credits, requiring approximately eight to ten hours of study per week. The curriculum moves through a theoretical phase, a practical phase, and a concluding personal project, supported by live webinars, case studies, and tutor-guided assignments on a dedicated virtual campus.
