BSc (Hons) Science of Sport Performance

Designed for students seeking a rigorous grounding in the science behind elite athletic performance, this three-year undergraduate degree at Leeds Beckett University covers biomechanics, physiology, nutrition, and sport psychology. Students learn to assess and monitor athletic development across individual and team sports, using industry-standard technologies and laboratory equipment. The course places a strong emphasis on applied practice, with placements at organisations such as Yorkshire Carnegie and Leeds Rhinos, as well as opportunities to support athletes competing in BUCS competitions.

Delivered on campus at the Headingley Campus within Leeds Beckett's Carnegie School of Sport, the course runs full-time over three years, starting September 2026. Students graduate with a BSc (Hons) in Science of Sport Performance. The programme is taught by tutors with extensive experience in sport education, within a facility that ranks in the QS World University Rankings top 100 for Sports-Related Subjects.
