BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching

Leeds Beckett University's BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching is a full-time undergraduate degree designed for those who want to develop the skills to coach and support participants across a wide range of sports and physical activities. Built around a globally recognised, evidence-based coaching framework, the programme covers coaching leadership, communication, programme planning, performance analysis, and self-reflection. Students apply their learning through approximately 60 hours of placement across schools, community clubs, professional sport organisations, and talent development academies.

Delivered on campus at Leeds Beckett's Headingley Campus, the course runs for three years and leads to a BSc (Hons) degree. Students have the opportunity to gain additional vocational qualifications, including Emergency First Aid and Safeguarding Children, alongside support in obtaining National Governing Body coaching awards. Teaching is provided by staff within Carnegie School of Sport, all of whom are active researchers in the university's Centre for Sport Coaching, recognised internationally for its work on coaching practice, development, and education.
