MSc Sport & Exercise Science

Designed for graduates with a background in sport and exercise science or related disciplines, this masters programme at Leeds Beckett University covers physiology, nutrition, biomechanics and psychology, with additional modules available in areas such as gait analysis, exercise training adaptation and sport psychology. Students engage with consultancy and research projects, work alongside elite-level athletes, and complete an independent major study. Placement opportunities have included organisations such as Leeds United, Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire Carnegie.

The programme is delivered full-time on campus at Headingley's Beckett Park over one year, with teaching supported by state-of-the-art facilities including a dedicated Sports Performance Laboratory. It is designed to meet the professional standards of the Chartered Association of Sport & Exercise Sciences (CASES), and Leeds Beckett holds a place among the top 100 institutions globally for sports-related subjects in the 2025 QS World University Rankings by Subject. The next intake begins in September 2026.
