BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching

Bournemouth University's BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching is a degree-level programme designed for students seeking a career in coaching practice across sport, education, health, and leisure settings. Covering sport psychology, coaching sciences, and ethical and sustainable coaching, the course equips graduates for roles in performance sport organisations, national governing bodies, schools, and sports and leisure centres. Placement opportunities and extra-curricular activities, including the CoachBU volunteering programme, guest lectures, and industry visits, provide practical professional experience alongside academic study.

Delivered full-time on campus at Bournemouth University's Talbot Campus, the course runs for three years with a six-week placement, or four years with a minimum 30-week placement. Graduates receive a CMI Level 5 Award in Coaching and Mentoring alongside their bachelor's degree. The programme holds accreditation from the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE), the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and is taught by senior academic staff, qualified practitioners, and industry guest lecturers.
