Certificate of Higher Education in Football Development

Developed in collaboration with The Football Association, this Certificate of Higher Education in Football Development is aimed at both current professionals in football or sport looking to upskill and those seeking to begin a career as a football development practitioner. The curriculum covers principles and strategic application of football development, the business of football development, equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding, monitoring and evaluation, and a work-based learning placement within a recognised football organisation such as a County FA or community club.

The course is delivered entirely through distance learning, with full-time study completed in one year and a part-time route available over two years. It is provided by UCFB Global Institute of Sport, an embedded college of the University of East London, with all graduates receiving a University of East London award. The curriculum was developed with input from experts in the FA's Grassroots Football Division, and the qualification carries a UCAS course code of FDVC.
