Decision-Making in Football

Designed for football coaches at an introductory level, this MiMentor course examines the science underpinning decision-making and explores how coaches can develop players to make better choices on the pitch. Topics progress from defining decision-making and its key skills through to the mechanics of player memory, experience and cue utilisation, before addressing practical methods for developing creative, decisive players. Coaching session designs are included throughout, offering adaptable material for direct use in training environments.

Delivered entirely online through the MiMentor learning platform, the course can be completed in one day or less. It is structured across several self-paced video and text-based lessons, and participants complete a workbook submission to earn course accreditation upon finishing. The course is provided by MiMentor, an online football education platform.
