Football Coaching and Performance Specialist

Designed in partnership with the Football Association of Wales (FAW), this BSc (Hons) degree at Wrexham University equips students with both the practical coaching skills and sports science knowledge needed to work across professional football environments. The programme covers player development, performance analysis, sport psychology, physiology and community football, and is suited to those seeking a career in academy systems, performance departments, elite coaching or community roles. Students also have the opportunity to progress through football-specific qualifications including the FAW C Certificate and FAW/UEFA B Licence.

The course is delivered full-time on campus in Wrexham over three years, taught by UEFA-qualified, research-active academics. Students gain access to elite facilities including the FAW's National Football Development Centre at Colliers Park and a CASES-accredited sports science laboratory. Industry partnerships with Wrexham AFC, the FAW and organisations such as the International Soccer Science and Football Federation further strengthen the programme's applied focus.
