Football Coaching and Performance with Foundation Year BSc

Developed in partnership with Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust, this BSc programme is aimed at students who want to build a career in football coaching and development but require an additional year of academic preparation before progressing to degree-level study. The foundation year introduces core Football Coaching and Performance topics, after which students move into modules covering football science, coaching theory, community development, performance analysis, sport psychology, and inclusion and diversity. Graduates leave equipped to plan and evaluate football development projects and deliver coaching sessions across a range of abilities.

The course is delivered on a classroom basis at Middlesex University's Hendon Campus, with access to facilities at Stonex Stadium. It runs for three years full-time or six years part-time. Students have the opportunity to complete the FA Introduction to Coaching and work towards the FA UEFA C Licence, and the programme includes a work-based learning component requiring 50 hours of industry experience. The course is delivered by Middlesex University.
