Master in Sports Law

Established in 2005 through a partnership between the University of Neuchâtel and CIES, this Master in Sports Law provides law graduates with specialist training across the full breadth of sports legal practice. The programme covers topics including the status of athletes, doping regulations, sponsorship, sports contracts, international sports organisations, and dispute resolution. It is aimed at those seeking careers in sports law firms, national or international sports organisations, or major event organising committees.

Lectures are delivered on a classroom basis in Neuchâtel, conducted entirely in French. The teaching staff comprises senior University of Neuchâtel academics who are also practising lawyers — including Prof. Madalina Diaconu, Prof. Sébastien Besson, Prof. Antonio Rigozzi, Dr. Yann Hafner, and Dr. Matthieu Perruchoud — supplemented by guest speakers. Students must register directly with the University of Neuchâtel to attend classes and sit Master examinations.
