MSc in Sports Directorship

Designed for sports professionals, coaches, ex-players and business leaders seeking to move into strategic leadership, the MSc Sports Directorship equips participants with the knowledge and skills required to operate as a Sporting Director within elite sporting organisations. The curriculum spans five modules — covering personal leadership, high-performance organisations, innovation and change, financial and legal issues, and an applied research project — with neuroscience and psychology integrated throughout to develop evidence-based decision-making.

The programme runs part-time over two years and combines on-campus teaching in Manchester with distance learning, allowing delegates to balance study with professional commitments. On-campus blocks are held at venues including Shoosmiths Manchester. Graduates receive an MSc validated by the University of East London, which is awarded through UCFB, an embedded college of that university. The course is led by Professor Rob Wilson and delivered in partnership between UCFB Manchester and VSI Executive Education.
