Sporting Director Programme

Aimed at active and former sporting directors, senior sports department professionals, and former international players, UEFA's Sporting Director Programme equips participants with the practical skills, strategic insight, and leadership qualities needed in modern football management. The curriculum spans governance, sporting strategy, legal frameworks, financial sustainability, talent recruitment, player development, and emerging technologies, with participants completing both group and individual assignments and receiving tailored feedback throughout.

The programme runs over approximately three months and combines three face-to-face seminars — held at European club venues and UEFA headquarters in Nyon — with two online masterclasses, totalling around 100 hours of learning. Cohorts are limited to 30 participants, and those who complete the programme receive a certificate of completion. Delivered in English by the UEFA Academy, the programme runs every second year, with seminars taking place across Madrid, Düsseldorf, and Nyon.
