About This Course
Designed for individuals currently working as a technical director in professional football, or those identified by their clubs as having potential to step into the role within two to three years, this FA programme explores the multi-dimensional nature of the technical director's remit. Across six modules, participants examine key working relationships, strategy, leadership philosophy, high-performing team structures, recruitment, academy operations, and club governance, with a strong emphasis on individual reflection and continuous improvement.
Delivered through a blended mix of face-to-face workshops and online learning, the 20-month programme includes 25 group contact days, sessions at St. George's Park, visits to high-performing organisations, and a three-day study visit to a world-leading European organisation. Executive coaching and one-to-one tutor support are provided throughout. The course is delivered by The FA, and upon successful completion participants gain access to an exclusive Alumni network offering ongoing CPD and professional development events.
