Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football

Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) is the FA's highest-level medical qualification within its football medicine pathway. Designed for doctors, physiotherapists, paramedics, nurses, sports therapists, and sports rehabilitators who hold primary responsibility for managing injured players, the course builds on the Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football. Topics covered include advanced life support, emergency action planning, advanced airway management, spinal and head injury management, cardiac arrest protocols, and the FA's concussion guidelines, developed through practical scenarios and formative assessments.

Delivered face-to-face over two days, the course combines practical workshops, theory sessions, and demonstrations. It runs at various venues across England, including the FA's national centre at St George's Park and professional football clubs. The qualification is accredited by the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, is valid for three years, and is delivered by the FA.
