BA (Hons) Sports Journalism

Designed for aspiring sports journalists, the BA (Hons) Sports Journalism at the University of Winchester trains students to produce content across television, radio, online and social media platforms. The curriculum spans sports reporting, radio production, media law, investigative journalism and documentary making, with students operating within a simulated multi-platform sports newsroom. The course is suited to those seeking a career in broadcast, digital or print sports media, with graduates progressing to organisations including BBC Sport, Sky Sports, ITV Sport and beIN Sports.

Delivered entirely on campus in Winchester, the course runs for three years full-time and is accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC), reflecting its industry-standard approach. Assessment is predominantly coursework-based, and the final year includes a major project alongside a work-based learning placement.
