Designed for graduates with a sport or journalism background, this master's programme at Solent University develops the editorial and technical skills needed to source, gather and deliver professional sports content across television, radio and digital platforms. Core modules cover sports broadcast production, the history and context of sports broadcasting, documentary-making, and professional practice including media law. Students build a portfolio of video, audio and academic work and undertake a four-week industry placement as a formal part of the degree.
Delivered on campus at Southampton City Centre, the course runs for one year full-time or two years part-time. It is accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC), which sets professional standards for broadcast journalism training across the UK.
