MSc Scouting and Recruitment in Football

Designed for aspiring professionals seeking a career in player identification and talent acquisition, this master's programme covers the full spectrum of scouting and recruitment in professional football. Core modules address talent detection, identification and selection, recruitment strategies, football statistics and data analysis, performance analysis, and an interdisciplinary approach to working within a football club environment. The course is taught by industry practitioners — including scouts with Premier League and international experience — alongside academic experts, and prepares graduates for roles as scouts, recruitment analysts, or talent managers at clubs, agencies, and governing bodies.

Delivered on a full-time basis over one year (or part-time over two years) at UCFB's campuses at Wembley and Manchester, the programme is classroom-based with September start dates. It is the first MSc in the UK to receive official endorsement from the Professional Football Scouts Association (PFSA). Graduates are awarded a degree by the University of East London, of which UCFB is an embedded college. The course is led by Dr. Danielle Prescott and provides access to industry-standard tools including Wyscout, Statsbomb, and Catapult GPS.
