MSc Sport & Exercise Biomechanics

Aimed at graduates from sport and exercise science, engineering, physics, sports technology, sports therapy, and related disciplines, this MSc examines human movement from a biomechanical perspective, with applications across performance, health, and injury. Core modules cover measurement techniques, neuromuscular biomechanics, advanced analysis of sports performers, and human gait, alongside a major independent research project. Students gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge laboratory technology including 3D motion analysis, dynamometry, and electromyography.

Delivered full-time over one year on Leeds Beckett University's Headingley Campus, the programme is classroom-based and makes extensive use of the university's specialist Human Movement Laboratory. Teaching is led by staff actively engaged in research and scientific support for athletic and clinical populations, with industry partnerships — including Leeds United — informing practical learning. Successful completion awards an MSc in Biomechanics of Human Movement.
