National Goalkeeping Course

The FA's National Goalkeeping Course is designed for coaches who hold the UEFA C Diploma or FA Level 2 in Coaching Football and want to deepen their specialist knowledge of the goalkeeper position. Building on existing UEFA C Diploma learning, the course helps coaches design and deliver effective goalkeeping practices, support players with technical and tactical development, and understand the challenges of growth and maturation specific to goalkeepers. It replaces the now-discontinued FA Level 1 and Level 2 in Coaching Goalkeepers.

Delivered in person at various venues across England, the course is completed in a single day, though participants are required to watch pre-course videos beforehand. It is offered by England Football Learning, the FA's coaching education platform, and is priced at £70. Prerequisites include current first aid and safeguarding qualifications alongside the required coaching licence.
