Sports Journalism BA(Hons)

Aimed at students passionate about sport and storytelling, this three-year BA (Hons) at Leeds Trinity University equips aspiring journalists with a broad range of practical and theoretical skills. Across the programme, students learn multimedia content production for online, TV, radio, and social media, alongside journalism law, ethics, and the business of sport including sponsorship and event staging. Professional work placements are embedded throughout all three years, and students build a portfolio of work covering real sporting patches and newsroom environments.

Delivered full-time on campus at Leeds Trinity's Horsforth site, the course uses a blended approach combining in-person teaching with digital learning resources. Students benefit from industry-standard newsrooms, TV and broadcast studios, and editing suites on campus. A partnership with NewsUK provides exclusive placement opportunities with TalkSport and SunSport. In the final year, students can work towards the NCTJ shorthand diploma.
