About This Course
Designed for coaches working within the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) in boys' professional academy football, the Advanced Youth Award focuses on developing high-level coaching skills tailored to elite youth environments. The course builds on The FA's Long-Term Player Development Model, covering technical and tactical programming integrated with physical, social, and psychological disciplines across three age phases: Foundation (5–11), Youth Development (12–16), and Professional Development (17–21). Applicants must hold the UEFA B Diploma, Emergency First Aid in Football, and a Safeguarding Children qualification before enrolling.
Delivered by The FA at various locations, the course combines 10 face-to-face learning days with online workshops and sessions, plus a minimum of three in-situ support visits at the participant's club. Accommodation at St. George's Park, meals, and all course materials are included in the fee. Successful completion of all components leads to the Advanced Youth Award qualification. Partially funded places are available for eligible applicants through The FA's funded places programme.
