BA (Hons) Football Development & Coaching

Plymouth Marjon University's BA (Hons) Football Coaching & Development is designed for students entering at second or third year level and covers coaching, player development, talent identification, performance analysis, leadership and management, and the use of football as a vehicle for social change. The programme suits those seeking a career across the football industry, from community and grassroots settings to performance environments, and is open to applicants from all backgrounds regardless of physical ability, gender, heritage, or age.

Delivered on campus in Plymouth, the course runs for three years full-time and is structured around strong industry partnerships with Plymouth Argyle, Argyle Community Trust, and Devon FA. A 100-plus-hour work placement sits at the heart of Year 2. Students receive financial support to complete FA coaching qualifications up to UEFA B at no additional cost, and the programme leads to a Chartered Management Institute Level 5 qualification in Management and Leadership. Graduates also earn professional endorsement for the 'Assistant Coach' and 'Coach' occupational standards from CIMSPA, embedded within the course with no additional assessment or cost.
