Introduction to Space in Football Tactics

Aimed at aspiring performance analysts, coaches, sports journalists, players and engaged fans, this intermediate-level module explores how space is understood and applied in professional football. It covers key concepts such as channels, half-spaces and attacking zones, and teaches learners how to describe a team's shape, assess the value of different pitch areas, and use video and data to analyse opposition tactics. The module concludes with an interactive exercise focused on analysing a team's use of space ahead of a FIFA World Cup match.

Delivered entirely online by AnalyiSport, the course is self-paced and can be completed in a day or less via a browser, requiring no additional materials. It is CPD accredited and forms part of a Level 2 Qualification, with a certificate of completion awarded on finishing.
