Master in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy

Designed for qualified physiotherapists seeking to deepen their clinical expertise, this nine-month private master's degree covers the full continuum of sports physiotherapy, from injury prevention and diagnosis through to rehabilitation and return-to-play. The curriculum spans physiological foundations of training, sports nutrition, psychology, podiatry, sports medicine, and emergency care, alongside advanced hands-on techniques including manual therapy, myofascial release, dry needling, hydrotherapy, rehabilitative ultrasound imaging, and neuroscience-based pain management. The programme is aimed at those wishing to work with athletes at amateur through to elite level.

Delivered on campus at the Villaviciosa de Odón campus in Madrid, the programme runs for nine months and carries 60 ECTS credits, awarding a private master's degree issued by Universidad Europea de Madrid. Teaching is conducted in English by international sports physiotherapy experts and members of Real Madrid C.F.'s medical team. Additional certifications in therapeutic Pilates, EPTE electrolysis, and dry needling are incorporated within the programme. The course is delivered through Escuela Universitaria Real Madrid Universidad Europea, the only institution in Spain recognised by the World Confederation for Physical Therapy.
