About This Course
Designed for anyone looking to build or refresh their understanding of adult safeguarding in a football context, this free module is particularly relevant to people involved in grassroots open-age disability football, County FA staff, council and board members, and staff in community club organisations supporting disability programmes. It covers the meaning of "safeguarding adults" and "adult at risk", the context of abuse including signs and indicators, how to report concerns, and how to apply safeguards to reduce harm. The module also introduces the role of the club welfare officer in adult disability teams.
Delivered entirely online by The FA through its England Football Learning platform, the course takes approximately one hour and ten minutes to complete and is open to participants aged 14 and over at no cost. On completion, learners receive a downloadable digital certificate issued by The FA.
