Sports Coaching BSc (Hons)

Coventry University's Sports Coaching BSc (Hons) is designed for undergraduates seeking a career in sports coaching, teaching, sports development, or community sport. The programme develops practical coaching skills alongside theoretical knowledge in areas such as pedagogy, bio-psycho-social development, physical literacy, and research methods. It is suited to those aiming to work across a range of settings, from schools and community organisations to talent pathways and professional sports environments.

The degree is delivered full-time on campus in Coventry, taking three years to complete, or four years on a sandwich route that incorporates an optional work placement of at least 26 weeks. Students have previously secured placements with professional clubs including Southampton FC, Coventry City FC, and Birmingham City FC, as well as bodies such as the English Institute of Sport. The programme holds a Gold rating from the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023 and is delivered by Coventry University.
