Bias in Scouting

Designed for scouts, coaches, analysts, managers, technical directors, and agents at all experience levels, "Bias in Scouting" examines how unconscious prejudice can distort the assessment of players and teams. The workshop explores the psychological dimensions of scouting and analysis, covering topics including judgment of character, different types of bias, bias in statistics, and bias relating to leagues and countries. No prerequisites are required, and participants are welcome to take the workshop independently of any broader course pathway.

Delivered live online via Zoom by the International Professional Scouting Organisation, the session runs for approximately one and a half to two hours and includes an interactive Q&A. It carries 2 CPD credits, accredited through the CPD Group, and participants receive a worldwide certificate of completion. Tutors are experienced scouts and analysts drawn from professional and international football, with named contributors including Premier League scouts and former international footballers. The workshop runs regularly, approximately every six weeks.
