Level 1 Technical Scouting in Football

Designed for those new to the field, the PFSA Level 1 in Technical Scouting introduces the principles and practice of using information technology and data science in player evaluation. The course explains how technical scouting complements — rather than replaces — traditional methods, giving scouting teams access to objective performance measures and the ability to screen players on a global scale. Although the underlying techniques draw on advanced mathematics, the content is presented in a way that is accessible to non-specialists.

Delivered entirely online in a self-paced format, the course can be completed in a day or less, making it a practical option for those fitting study around existing commitments. It is developed and delivered by the Professional Football Scouts Association (PFSA), with content created by a senior consultant who has worked with Chelsea, PSG, and Real Madrid.
