MSc Sports Event Management

Designed for graduates from any subject background, this full-time master's programme at Leeds Beckett University equips students with the specialist knowledge needed to plan and manage sporting events at regional, national, and international level. Core modules cover event operations, risk management, strategic and financial management, sponsorship and marketing, human resource leadership, and research methods, with topics spanning events as large as the Olympic Games and as local as the Leeds Half Marathon. The course draws on academic and industry expertise and includes guest lectures from visiting practitioners and an optional paid placement year.

Delivered on-campus at Headingley Campus in Leeds, with teaching scheduled on Mondays and Tuesdays during term time, the programme runs for 12 months full-time and leads to an MSc in Sports Events Management. It is delivered by a specialist team of research-active academics and industry consultants within a faculty that holds a five-star QS rating for Hospitality and Leisure Management and ranks in the QS World University Rankings by Subject top 100 in that field.
