Scottish FA C Licence Course

Designed for coaches actively working with youth and adult players aged 13 and above, the Scottish FA C Licence is a 30-hour qualification at Level Two of the Main (Youth/Adult) Coaching Pathway. The course aims to equip candidates with the skills to deliver training sessions, shape team structures, and develop individual programmes. It covers three practical components — conducting a training session, shaping a team, and an individual programme — alongside theory elements and a final thesis. It also serves as a prerequisite for the UEFA B Licence.

Delivered in a classroom-based format by the Scottish FA, the course spans 30 hours and includes a minimum of nine hours of formal practical and theory assessment. Successful candidates earn the Scottish FA C Licence, which must be kept valid through accredited Continuous Coach Development every three years. Please note the qualification is not UEFA accredited. Candidates must hold the Scottish FA Level 1.3 Award and the Children's Wellbeing in Scottish Football award as prerequisites for entry.
