UEFA A Diploma

Designed for coaches working within, or aspiring to work within, the professional game in senior (21+) and youth development environments, the UEFA A Diploma is the highest practical coaching award available through The FA. Building on the UEFA B Diploma, it develops technical and tactical understanding of the 11v11 game, covering strategies and tactics, systems of play, positional coaching, and England DNA principles. Applicants must hold the UEFA B Diploma and have at least one year of head or assistant coaching experience in 11-a-side football.

Delivered by The FA, the course runs over 12 months and comprises six two-day residential modules held at St. George's Park, accompanied by a mandatory online programme ahead of each block and in-situ support from an FA coach developer throughout. On successful completion, participants earn the UEFA A Diploma, a qualification that supports progression into senior professional coaching roles and serves as a stepping stone toward the UEFA Pro Diploma.
