UEFA Goalkeeping A Diploma

Designed for goalkeeper coaches already working in professional football — including the Premier League, English Football League, Women's Super League and international football — the UEFA Goalkeeping A Diploma develops elite-level coaching expertise. The curriculum covers the evolving role of the goalkeeper in modern play, with a focus on advanced technical coaching, talent identification and recruitment, performance analysis, psychological development, and strength and conditioning. Applicants must already hold the UEFA B Diploma and UEFA Goalkeeping B Diploma before enrolling.

Delivered face-to-face by The FA across various locations, the course runs over twelve months and comprises four two-day learning modules — eight taught days in total — supplemented by four peer group meetings and four club site support visits. Assessment combines practical activities, club site evaluations and a personal coaching portfolio. Successful completion awards the UEFA A in Coaching Goalkeepers qualification, recognised at the highest levels of the professional game.
