Introduction to Talent Identification

Designed for anyone interested in scouting and talent identification, this FA course requires no prior experience or qualifications to enrol. Spread across eight self-paced modules, it covers the core responsibilities of a scout and how to build a rounded assessment of player potential across different age groups, with the aim of helping participants contribute to the development pathway for future England squads.

Delivered entirely online and free of charge, the course takes approximately one hour and twenty minutes to complete. It is part of England Football Learning, the FA's dedicated education platform, and sits at the introductory level within a broader suite of talent identification courses. Learners need a Football Administration Number (FAN) ID to access the content, which can be completed at any time and from any location.
