Performance Analysis Foundations & Fundamentals

Aimed at analysts, scouts, coaches, managers, agents, sports directors, and enthusiastic beginners alike, this introductory course from the International Professional Scouting Organisation covers the foundations of performance analysis in professional football. Participants learn how to assess teams and players using key metrics such as xG and NPG90, and gain hands-on familiarity with industry tools including Hudl, Wyscout, and InStat. The course also addresses how statistical data supports traditional visual scouting, and how to produce and present polished video reports.

Delivered entirely online via Zoom, the course runs across two evenings and totals approximately seven to eight hours of live, tutor-led instruction. There are no prerequisites for enrolment. Participants receive an IPSO certificate of completion. The course is led primarily by Stelios Vradelis, a UEFA specialist performance analyst and director of the Institute of Sports Analysis in Athens, who has worked with the Greek FA and InStat. The course carries endorsements from several national football associations and European clubs.
